'Ugly to Start With' by John Michael Cummings

Wow I devoured this book!  It consists of short stories which are all connected (to one extent or another.)  What I loved about this book was how relatable it was.  It dealt with the whole 'coming-of-age' and 'becoming a man' debacle very well.  It's a very quick, realistic read which is ultimately about life.

The Marbury Lens by Andrew Smith

Wow...this author has one heck of an imagination.  A mix of fantasy, adventure, and disturbing content, this book is sure to please the horror movie addicts.  Intensely creepy but thought provoking, I would recommend this to those who want to read something original....boy are you in for a surprise.  Just read it...if you dare ;)   The ending was lacking but an overall good book.

Guess who has a SIGNED ARC?!?!?!?!?! THIS ONE! Right here! ;)

Great first book in a series.  It flowed fast, kept some predictability, but also left some questions.  Assuming you don't already know a bit about the book, I won't be telling.  The summary will give it away.  If you like magic and fish-out-of-water-scenarios, along with a love story, pick it up and start reading.

'Evermore' Review

'Evermore' was a quick, but interesting read.  It's about Nikki, who is sent to the Underworld for six months (which is 100 years in Underworld Time).  Following her release from there, she is given six months to come back to her old life and love.  Along the way she must deal with her stalker and finish her mortal life...if she can make it that far.  It flowed quickly, but it did drag on for about fifty pages.  I did like it though.  I would recommend it if you like a love story with paranormal themes (however the plot is original.)

Can't wait to read this!  It's the third book in the Ivy Series.
It starts with:
1) The Ivy
2) The Ivy: Secrets
3) The Ivy: Rivals
The fourth is unreleased and untitled but it is slated for sometime later this year.
